Most importantly, I care about people. I advocate progress in the midst of challenges, healing when it may seem out of reach, and the therapeutic relationship at all times. I'm passionate about my work, and feel blessed to be practicing in the field I first chose and continue to feel motivated to advance and offer the best opportunities for my clients. I received my B.A. in Psychology from UNL in 1994 and my Master's in Counseling from UNO in 1997. Since then I have worked both in outpatient and inpatient settings in Omaha. I enjoy private practice and opened Cornerstone Psych and Collaborative Care in 2017 to provide a healing atmosphere for clients and supportive environment for therapists to thrive in together. In my free time I love family time with my two children, time with friends and staying active. I also love reading and a variety of creative pursuits. Most important, I have hope, always! And I love helping whenever I have the opportunity. Don't hesitate, we're all one call or message away.
I believe in taking a systematic approach to therapy. If one area of our lives is affected the others will be as well. Using the client's expertise in their own lives I help guide them in creating new, more meaningful and beneficial patterns in their lives. I received a Bachelor's degree in Psychology in 2000 and a Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2010. I am a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner and a Licensed Independent Marriage and Family Therapist. I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families of all ages. I am certified in Medical Family Therapy and have experience working with individuals and families dealing with acute and chronic illnesses. I have been serving on the board for the Nebraska Association for Marriage and Family Therapists for the past 6 years. I have also been serving on the Nebraska Deaf and Hard of Hearing Mental Health Advisory Committee for the past 6 years as well. If you feel you have been stuck in an area of your life and need some guidance to help you start moving forward , don't hesitate to reach out. I help those that are struggling with anxiety, depression, parent/child difficulties, marital/relationship problems, acute and chronic illness, and grief.
